EPL 2011: Arsene Wenger Will Rue Not Signing Yaya Toure

Yesterday was the FA Cup semifinal between Manchester City and Manchester United, one of the fiercest rivalries in Europe in cup knockout competition.

It was simply amazing.

Manchester City powered through in the second half and went ahead through the surging run of Yaya Toure. The Red Devils could not find any answers, as Alex Ferguson's men were pegged back by the Blue Side of Manchester.

The Blues reached the cup final at Wembley for the first time in 30 years and the fans were all singing "The Blue Moon rising." It was an epic battle in a buoyant atmosphere in Wembley Stadium, North London.

But one man stood out throughout the whole 90 minutes. One man who clinched a goal and the Man of the Match award. One man who stated his sheer talent with a blistering performance.

None other than Yaya Toure.

Toure dedicated his goal to brother Kolo Toure, who is banned for testing positive for drug substances. The former Arsenal defender watched his little sibling ruin Manchester United with a powerful performance.

As an Arsenal fan, I could not help but envy such a player. Arsene Wenger must have been watching and wondered why he never bought him!

Yaya Toure showed he is a complete midfielder with his strong physical presence and his surging run from midfield to support Balotelli. Even the goal was pure class as he drove past Vidic before coolly tapping in through Van der Sar's legs. It was sheer brilliance from the Ivorian.

Toure is moulding into the new Patrick Vieira, and Arsenal should have snapped him up a long time ago.

Another mistake by the Gunners was letting Adebayor leave the club. Although Adebayor seemed to be distracting the changing room, you need players in the club who are passionate and natural leaders with that killer instinct. It is a winning mentality that Arsenal lack at the present time.

Arsenal are still three players short of becoming a threat. These players need to have that physical presence, power and will to go all out to win games for the club, just like Adebayor and Yaya Toure.
