Veteran Jeff Gordon Wins Big in Pocono 500 at Pocono Raceway
With another wild Pocono 500 finished, NASCAR?s points standings are starting to look clearer.
Jeff Gordon and the No. 24 car may have raced himself into the top ten with a stellar victory during the Pocono 500 in Pennsylvania. With the victory at Pocono, Gordon has 84 career wins and looks to move into second place with a few more wins.
Gordon finished in the top five last week at Kansas, and since his terrible stretch last season, he has had a wonderful season again.

Now that he has won, Gordon will look to build on that success and will be aiming for another Sprint Cup Series championship.
Gordon?s second win of the year was his fifth at Pocono, and that ties him with legend Bill Elliot for the most wins in the mountains of Pennsylvania. With the success this season for Hendrick motorsports and their cars, Gordon will look to use that as a platform to push for his fifth NASCAR championship.
The Chase for the Cup is still awhile away, but the truth is, Gordon is too strong to relinquish his lead on the pack this late in the season.
