The 2011 NHL Draft gives hockey fans a glimpse into the future of what their favorite teams will look like. While many of these names may not be recognizable and may take a few years to develop and face a tough road through the minors, the most successful NHL franchises get built through the draft.

With a strong skill set, JT Miller is an attractive prospect.
He is an extremely strong skater and while not a particularly imaginative offensive player, his skills have carried him a long way.
The problem with Miller has always been that the total has not always equaled the sum of the parts. Despite his immense skills, his numbers haven?t been particularly daunting.

He did thrive at the U18?s this last year. With four goals and eight assists, Miller was one of the top scorers in the entire six-game tournament and was named the top American forward.
Despite that performance, Miller is a player that is viewed as a gamble. The ceiling is extremely high but the historical lack of production makes people question his hockey IQ.
A playoff team like the Rangers can afford to take a gamble like this. He would not be a good pick for a team looking to contend. But they're already there.
