D.C. United has granted Brazilian midfielder Fred?s request to move to Australian club Melbourne Heart, sources close to the situation said Friday. He will remain with United until the international transfer window opens in mid-July.
Club officials declined to comment on Australian reports that a free transfer was in the works. However, sources confirmed to the Insider that the deal is in the process of being completed, ending his second stint in Washington.
