Stanley Cup 2011: Will Tim Thomas Bring Boston a Stanley Cup?

Tim Thomas Will Not Bring the Boston Bruins a 2011 Stanley Cup Championships

The Boston Bruins have beaten every odd that was in their way, and now it?s go-time in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

Unfortunately for the Bruins, the game will be played in Vancouver, and the bad news is Roberto Luongo has only let in two goals in three games at home during the finals.

The problem for Vancouver on the other hand, is that Luongo has let in 15 goals in just three games in Boston. That?s the definition of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

If the Bruins want to put away the Canucks, they will need another superb game from goalie Tim Thomas, but there?s much pressure.

Thomas told the Boston Herald:

I wouldn?t call it pressure. It?s more we want to win. We want all the work we?ve put into this whole season and this whole playoffs to pay off. We want to accomplish the goal that we set, which was winning the Stanley Cup.

If this postseason has taught us anything about the Boston Bruins, it?s that Tim Thomas is one of the best goaltenders in the NHL, and the Bruins need that. He has shown that he can bounce back from bad games, and it is his ability to keep himself even-keeled that keeps the Bruins in every game.

Vancouver is one of the best offensive teams, though, and I just don?t think the Bruins have a deep enough defensive squad to stop all of the forwards that the Canucks have.

This game will be close, but I think Vancouver will win 3-2 in overtime.
