Jadeveon Clowney: Clowney Chooses South Carolina After Rightfully Waiting

Top High School Player Jadeveon Clowney Right to Take his Time in Choosing South Carolina

Jadeveon Clowney was the big name being thrown around in college football recruiting talks, and for good reason. He is the number one player in the nation according to Rivals.com, and after not choosing anywhere to attend on National Signing Day, he chose South Carolina as the school he'll attend today.

There are some people out there that have criticized waiting a couple weeks after National Signing Day to make his decision. I say one thing to his waiting to make a decision: good for him.

Just because there is a day dedicated to high school players signing does not mean they have to. If they want to make sure they are picking the right school, then Clowney and others could wait until April for all I care. It's about knowing where you belong, and on his 18th birthday, he has figured that out.

Did he make the right decision in attending South Carolina? I'd say so. He's from South Carolina, Steve Spurrier will use him wisely, and they have a solid foundation now, complete with other Mr. South Carolinas such as Marcus Lattimore.

If anyone is really complaining that he waited two weeks after National Signing Day to make a decision, then that's completely ridiculous. He's happy where he is now, as are all Gamecocks fans. It's the nature of the beast that you have to wait for talent sometimes, and some teams get unlucky.

Besides, now Alabama can have a grudge match with South Carolina since they missed out on him.
