UFC on FX 1 will go down as the night Mike Easton and Jared Papazian had one of the scrappiest battles in recent MMA memory.
Easton and Papazian fought a close back-and-forth fight with Easton picking up a majority decision win.
What We'll Remember about This Fight
Easton and Papazian came into this bout ready to fight.
Papazian, just 23 years old and making his UFC debut, showed no signs of Octagon jitters as he stood toe to toe with Easton.
Although Easton was the smaller of the two fighters, size did not matter as he showed good takedown defense and was able to regain control whenever Papazian put him on the cage.
Both men put on a great fight and showed us that the little guys can slug it out too.
What We Learned about Mike Easton
Easton may still have a few things to work on, but he is ready to be a star in the bantamweight division.
Easton showed his toughness and that he is not afraid to stand and bang with anybody.
What We Learned about Jared Papazian
Papazian may have picked up the loss, but he has a bright future ahead of him in the UFC.
Papazian showed a lot of toughness and heart in his UFC debut and showed why the bantamweight division is worth watching.
What's Next for Easton
Easton has been impressive in both of his UFC matches, and at 12-1, he could become a serious threat.
Depending on how much of a test the UFC wants to put him through in his next bout, he could face 14-1 Michael McDonald, Miguel Torres or have a rematch with Ultimate Fighter season 14 winner John Dodson in his next bout.
What's Next for Papazian
Papazian proved he was tough. But at age 23, he still has some growing to do.
He could face someone like Alex "Bruce Leroy" Caceres, or the winner of T.J. Dillashaw vs. Walel Watson in his next bout.
