The Philadelphia stop on Sidney Crosby's comeback tour was going to be appointment hockey on Thursday night. Alas, Crosby will miss that game and their game at the New York Islanders for precautionary reasons. From the Penguins:
"Sidney took a hard hit during our game against Boston Monday night and wasn't feeling 100 percent," Penguins General Manager Ray Shero said. "He saw Dr. Micky Collins of UPMC today and took an ImPACT test, which showed no problems. However, we all think it's best that he sits out the next two games as a precaution."
Both WTAE and CSN Philly believe this is the hit that Shero's referring to, in Crosby's eighth game back from concussion.
Much like Steckel and Hedman, no supplemental discipline for Kunitz. Conspiracy!
If he's not feeling 100 percent just eight games into his comeback ? yeah, playing him in Philadelphia and at the New York Islanders probably wouldn't be advisable. Shelly Anderson of the Post-Gazette also notes that concussion symptoms can also manifest themselves over time. More from The Pensblog.
We're confident that this is just a bump in the road, and that Sidney Crosby will rise again. And by that we mean he's a vampire.
