College Football Rankings 2011 Week 3: 3 Teams Who Proved They Belong

With week three of the college football season on the horizon, a few teams made their case, and showed the college football world they belong in the top 25.

Here are the teams who took it to another level to provide evidence to their argument.

Auburn

After a close call with a mediocre Utah State in week one, the Auburn Tigers came out and looked better against No. 25 Mississippi State this past Saturday.

If Auburn can beat Clemson on Saturday, that should get the rest of the media off their back, and show the remaining doubters that they do in fact belong in the top 25.

South Florida

After taking down then ranked Notre Dame in week one, the University of South Florida football team proved they were worthy of a top 25 ranking by beating Ball State 37-7 this past Saturday.

After not being included in the top 25 in the preseason, the two early season wins give no doubt that USF was shafted in the preseason polls.

Arizona State

The Arizona State Sun Devils beat then No. 21 Missouri 37-30 in an overtime thriller on Saturday, landing them a spot in the top 25 at No. 22.

Arizona St. will have another chance to beat a strong team when they go up against Illinois this Saturday.

Beating Illinois will give no reason to doubt that ASU belongs in the top 25, as it will be two tough tests that they will have passed in a row.
