Quarterbacks always have a bad game. It?s bound to happen no matter who you are. From Tom Brady to Peyton Manning, they have had a bad game in their College or Professional careers.
Tonight?s Florida State, Oklahoma game is where OU?s Quarterback Landry Jones had, and still does, a chance to break himself away from the pack of Heisman Trophy candidates. However, his slow start to tonight?s game not only keeps him with the other hopefuls, but may have put him behind some people.
So far throughout the game Jones has a great completion percentage at 66%, but his passing yards are only 126 and he hasn?t reached the end zone yet; plus he?s responsible for a drive stopping interception.
Heading into the fourth quarter Landry needs to have a big quarter to erase the bad performance that he has had so far. There?s 15-minuets left in the game. That?s plenty of time to come alive and throw for another 100-to-150 yards giving him over 200 yards for the day. Maybe he ends with two touchdowns as well?
Landry can get the win tonight, but still lose his spot as the Heisman favorite. Or he can have a big final quarter and assert himself as the best college player in the nation.
