Thursday's Three Stars: Khabby wins again; Christensen's SO goal

No. 1 Star: Nikolai Khabibulin, Edmonton Oilers

Khabibulin won his second straight after snapping a 14-game losing streak on Tuesday with a 36-save performance in a 4-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens. Ales Hemsky opened and closed the scoring for the Oilers and Jordan Eberle and Ryan Jones scored 15 seconds apart in the third period to help secure the win. The victory was the first time Khabibulin won consecutive starts since Dec. 2-4 against Toronto and St. Louis.

No. 2 Star: Keith Yandle, Phoenix Coyotes

Yandle increased his lead among all defenseman with a three-assist night as Phoenix edged the Atlanta Thrashers 4-3. Lauri Korpikoski and Martin Hanzal scored in a 3:50 span late in the second period and didn't look back. Ilya Bryzgalov made 33 saves and Yandle recorded all three of his assists on the Coyotes' final three goals.

No. 3 Star: Pavel Datsyuk, Detroit Red Wings

As the Red Wings visited Tampa for the first time since Steve Yzerman took over as GM of the Lightning, Datsyuk continued his scoring prowess tallying twice as Detroit took home the two points with a 6-2 win. Datsyuk's pair of goals give him eight in his last 13 games. Jimmy Howard made 38 stops and Danny Cleary recorded a three-point night as the Red Wings won their third in a row.

Honorable mention: Boston ended a three-game slide with three goals in the opening 10 minutes en route to a 6-3 victory over the New York Islanders. Tuukka Rask made 34 saves and Milan Lucic, David Krejci, Tyler Seguin, and Blake Wheeler each had a goal and an assist ... Mike Fisher scored his first goal for Nashville and Pekka Rinne made 35 saves as the Predators upended the Vancouver Canucks 3-1. Fisher and Nick Spaling scored 49 seconds apart in the second period to give Nashville the lead for good ... Antti Niemi won for the sixth time in eight starts and Joe Pavelski scored a shorthanded goal and added an assist as San Jose beat Washington 3-2. Dany Heatley's goal midway through the third period held up as the game winner to give the Sharks their 14th win in their last 15 meetings against the Capitals ... Despite allowing a late goal that forced overtime, the Rangers received goals from Erik Christensen and Mats Zuccarello in the shootout to beat the Los Angeles Kings 4-3. Henrik Lundqvist earned his 200th NHL win with 25 saves. Despite the loss, the Kings picked up a point in their 11th straight game. Christensen kicked off the shootout with his own tribute to Peter Forsberg:

Dishonorable mention: Michael Grabner, the NHL's No. 1 star of the week, saw his consecutive games with a goal streak end at six ...
