Toronto Raptors GM Bryan Colangelo has said that there has been tons of interested for the coaching gig that's opened up with the departure of Jay Triano. The process of putting a new coach to mend this young team together is nearly complete.
According to the Toronto Star's Doug Smith, multiple reports have said that the choices are down to two: Dallas Mavericks' current assistant coach Dwane Casey or Boston Celtics assistant Lawrence Frank.
It's great to see that Colangelo has finally decided to hire a big name coach, whether it is Casey or Frank.
Both are great coaches, and both will address the Raps' defensive needs, which is the main thing Colangelo is looking for at this point.
Frank has had tons of experience and is a mastermind down the stretch of games.
Casey has coached on different levels, but hasn't really had tons of experience as a head coach. However, if you are looking for a guy to discipline the players, Casey is your man. Andrea Bargnani might actually get benched next season if he's still around.
Both are great coaches. Personally, I'd like to see Lawrence Frank running the show next season just because he's much more experienced, but then again, Casey is the one scheming the Western Conference champs Dallas Mavericks defense.
