News & notes for U.S. friendly vs. Spain

*The U.S. squad arrived in Foxborough tonight after a week of training in Cary, N.C. With midfielder Benny Feilhaber (ankle injury) not expected to recover in time for the Gold Cup and not part of the team delegation, late arrival Alejandro Bedoya seems set to take his place on the 23-man roster. However, the move wouldn?t be made until after the Spain friendly Saturday at Gillette Stadium.

Although he hasn?t officially been added to the Gold Cup list, Bedoya could end up playing in the Spain match since it is an independent event. Eighteen of 23 players will suit up and six substitutions are permitted ? expect Bob Bradley to use all of them and, with the Gold Cup opener just three days later, carefully manage minutes. While we?d all like to see a full-strength lineup for the full 90 against the reigning world champions, the reality is that there is a tournament of consequence on the horizon.
