Monday's Three Stars: Zdeno Chara's hat trick; Langenbrunner, Marleau hit 1,000 games played in NHL

No. 1 Star: Zdeno Chara, Boston Bruins

Chara's first NHL hat trick in 892 career games powered the Bruins to a 7-0 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes. He scored two first-period goals, including one on the power play. In the third, a blast from the power-play point gave the big man his first career trick. Tim Thomas made 31 saves for the shutout.

No. 2 Star: Jamie Langenbrunner, Dallas Stars

In his 1,000th NHL game, Langenbrunner what was the game-winning goal on the power play in the Stars' 2-1 victory over the visiting Los Angeles Kings. The Stars honored him in a pregame ceremony. Special nod to Kari Lehtonen, who made 23 saves and stopped a Jack Johnson penalty shot with 52.4 seconds left to preserve the win.

No. 3 Star: P.K. Subban, Montreal Canadiens

A wild game between the Habs and the Calgary Flames came to an end when Subban scored this game-winner 1:06 into overtime, blasting the puck past Henrik Karlsson. Subban, who earlier assisted on a Mike Cammalleri goal, gave Montreal a 5-4 victory in a game that saw that blow a 4-0 lead.

Honorable mention: It was the Bryan Little show for the Atlanta Thrashers, as he scored a goal and assisted on Chris Thorburn's goal 44 seconds later to tie the Florida Panthers in the third; he then scored one of the two shootout goals that gave the Thrash a 3-2 victory behind 38 saves from Ondrej Pavelec. ... Florida continued its torrid power-play streak, scoring twice more on the man advantage against Atlanta. ... Patrick Marleau scored a goal in his 1,000th career game and Dany Heatley added a goal and an assist in the San Jose Sharks' 4-2 win at the Phoenix Coyotes. Logan Couture scored his rookie-leading 20th goal for the Sharks, while Oliver Ekman-Larsson netted his first NHL goal for the Coyotes. ...  Leading the Calgary rally was Olli Jokinen (2 assists) and Jarome Iginla (goal, assist). ... Finally, Vladimir Zharkov scored his first NHL goal, Ilya Kovalchuk scored his 13th and Mattias Tedenby scored his fifth in impressive fashion as the New Jersey Devils outlasted the New York Islanders, 5-2.

Dishonorable mention: Cam Ward was pulled after giving up 2 goals on 5 shots. ... Erik Cole, Jussi Jokinen and Joni Pitkanen were all a minus-3. ... Both Miikka Kiprusoff (13 saves, 17 shots) and Alex Auld (20 saves, 24 shots) were pulled in the Calgary/Montreal game. ... Niklas Hagman was a minus-3 for Calgary, as was Ray Whitney for the Coyotes.
