Twitter has given us a sneak peak into athletes' thoughts that we could never have gotten if a reporter was asking the questions. It truly has turned into a great medium.
Some athletes use it as sparingly as possible, not at all, or in really lame ways, like to push products and views (See: @TimTebow). Some see it as a way to connect with their fans, and let them inside to get an idea of who they are (See: @ochocinco). When athletes have an axe to grind, Twitter is a great place for them to do it (See: @KingJames).
Some just feel way too comfortable on Twitter (See: @ddockett), and it can be downright creepy.
