Even though he's a rookie, forward Matt Read has obviously acclimated to the Philadelphia Flyers tradition quite quickly. Here's how he disrupted a line change by the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night, shoving Matt D'Agostini back on the pine with a crosscheck:
Cameras didn't catch Chris Pronger grinning like a proud father. Which we assume he was.
D'Agostini got the last laugh, icing the game with a power-play goal just 1:06 after Matt Carle cut the Blues' lead to two goals in the third period. St. Louis skated away with a 4-2 victory, as Brian Elliott won his second straight game with Jaroslav Halak watching from the bench.
As for Read, he's making Bob McKenzie of TSN look like a genius. Read was his preseason Calder pick; he currently has six points in seven games, trailing Ryan Nugent-Hopkins by one point for the rookie lead.
