While NHL teams are about a month away from the beginning of training camp, European clubs are already in the middle of their preseason.
During an exhibition game last night between Slovakia's HK Nitra and HC Donbass Donestsk of Ukraine, the teams held a bit of a brawl. Donestsk goalie EvgenyTsaregorodtsev(and you thought Pierre-Luc Leblond-Letourneau was an equipment manager's nightmare) took it upon himself to become the center of the spat, throwing a temper tantrum and getting into it with fans on his way off the ice:
Yes, at the seven second mark he attempts to bash his stick on an opponent's head and later appears to point to a scoreboard noting his side was in front ... during an exhibition game that Donestsk would win 3-1.
Goalies have always known to be a little eccentric and this continues that stereotype. We also haven't seen a goalie freakout like that since Tuukka Rask was playing in the AHL.
