Week 5 in the Big 12 season saw a lot of good action and it started off with the Texas A&M Aggies taking on the Arkansas Razorbacks. The Aggies weren’t able to pull it out, losing 42-38.
Texas Tech and Kansas went against one another and the Red Raiders came out a 45-34 winner. The Red Raiders are now 4-0 and are looking good heading into the rest of their conference schedule.
The Oklahoma Sooners manhandled Ball State 62-6 and have a lot of momentum heading into their game against Texas. Needless to say the Red River Rivalry game will be a good one.
Speaking of the Longhorns, they took on the previously undefeated Iowa State Cyclones this past Saturday and defeated them 37-14. As mentioned, the Longhorns will take their undefeated record into the Red River Rivalry against the Sooners in what may be the best game of the Big 12 schedule this season.
Baylor ended their winning streak with a 36-35 loss to Kansas State on Saturday. The Wildcats remain undefeated after this game and look good heading into the full Big 12 conference schedule.
There are no teams on bye this coming week.
Teams that are ranked this week include (in the AP Top 25 Poll): No. 3 Oklahoma, No. 6 Oklahoma State, No. 11 Texas, No. 20 Kansas State, No. 24 Texas A&M and No. 25 Baylor.

In the Coaches’ Poll, Oklahoma is No. 1, Oklahoma State is No. 7, Texas is No. 10, Kansas State is No. 21 and Texas A&M is No. 25.
Some of the big match-ups next week include:
Iowa State at Baylor—Iowa State and Baylor are coming off of their first losses of the season so both of these teams will be primed to try to get back on a winning track. Baylor may hold the edge in this game and has been favored to be the winner.
Texas vs. Oklahoma—One of the biggest rivalries in college football will take place this coming weekend when the Longhorns and the Sooners get together for the Red River Rivalry. This game may be too close to call and if the Longhorns win they will propel themselves back up to the top of the Big 12. If the Sooners win they will propel themselves to a solid number one ranking.
Kansas at Oklahoma State—Oklahoma State is one of the best teams in the nation and Kansas may not be that difficult a match for them. They can keep pace with Oklahoma by getting a win here and should be able to do that.
Missouri at Kansas State—The Wildcats are still undefeated through four games this season but will face a tough test against Missouri (who gave the Sooners a run for their money a couple weeks ago) and they may fall from the ranks of the undefeated this week. Expect this to be the second best game of the weekend.
Texas A&M at Texas Tech—The Red Raiders are coming into this game undefeated and will face one of their biggest rivals in Texas A&M. If the Red Raiders can win this game they will position themselves higher in the polls and make their shot at taking the top of the conference a reality.
