2011 NFL Mock Draft: Jacksonville Jaguars Add Push Rusher Ryan Kerrigan at No.16

The Jaguars need a defensive end who can rush the quarterback, and though Aldon Smith is a great player, pass rushing is not his specialty. That leaves Purdue defensive end Ryan Kerrigan.

Kerrigan, who measures in at 6'4" and 267 pounds, is a smart player with a good blend of power and speed. He had 13 sacks and 18.5 tackles for a loss in 2009, so he can get to the quarterback consistently. He's also got the intangibles to be a defensive captain after a year or two of starting.

The Jaguars had just three sacks in their last five games and nobody knows how good Aaron Kampman will be coming off his second ACL surgery. Kerrigan should fill an immediate need and start by midseason at the latest.
